Brunettes in California

Published in 2022, Brunettes in California is the third book by poet Queenie Jones and is by far her most controversial. Written from the perspective of the original charecter Darby Chuck, the poetry in this book tackles what happens when dreams arent realized, when a star is NOT born... Throughout the book, to escape her dark reality as an exotic dancer- Chuck day dreams of what it would be like to be a beautiful star like her hero Clara Bow. 
Jones once again enlists the help of collaborater Felicia Montenegro to create imagery that perfectly depicts the beautiful dreams and the crushing reality of this troubled character's tumultuous life.
